Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was awarded a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. She managed to make it with the stipend she received from her students while working part time jobs. In the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied in her ability when compared with her peers and was contemplating a different direction she would take. Lennox performed flute in the 1976 group called Dragons Playground. She left the band before they appeared as a guest on I.T.V's talent show New Faces. From 1977 to 1980 she was lead vocalist for The Tourists, a British Pop group. Here she met Dave Stewart who would later join Eurythmics. Lennox then went on to record her debut solo album Diva. It was released in 1992. It was an enormous achievement with regard to sales and critical acclaim. Nostalgia Lennoxs six solo album, released in October 2014 is Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. Lennox picked her favorite blues and soul tunes. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox has released Lepidoptera an album of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. The album is a companion to her Now I let the door open... artwork which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The album is her first independent album. Annie Lennox, born on December 25, 1954 in Scotland is a philanthropist and an activist in the political arena. She also sings. In the late 70s, Lennox gained some not-so-great fame while members in The Tourists. She and Dave Stewart then gained international notoriety in the 80s under the name Eurythmics. The album that Lennox released in 1992 Diva was a huge success, featuring a variety of tracks, such as Why the World is Broken Glass. Medusa, her 1995 album studio has covers of the songs No MoreI Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. Her solo catalog includes six studio albums as well as a compilation album.
